When typing European names, getting the unlauts and accent-graves...etc in can be frustrating. Here is a tip on how you can put them in. On your system go to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map

This application allows you to enter different characters into what you are typing. You can either cut & paste the characters or you can type them in as you go. I have a chart on my monitor with the codes to the ones I use the most. They way you type them in directly is as follows:

an ae is an a with the umlauts which corresponds to a code 0228.

Hold down the ALT key on your keyboard and then hit the 0228 on your keypad, then release the ALT key..You have just typed in an . The zero in the code important, don't forget it. Here are some codes and characters that I use the most. The rest can be found in the Char Map...when you point to a character the code is shown in th elower right-hand corner of the window..

ALT 0228
ALT 0235
ALT 0246
ALT 0252
