Thanks for your reply.
It looks as though the Daubers settled in Lincs and then a branch was established in Wigan?
Before this it is thought that the origin of Dawber was either Austria or German/French border?
My Grandfather was born a Catholic so I thought the name was more likely to be French than German!
If I want to find more relatives I supose I will have to get a Census, is this how you did research?
