I was so excited to see your message. Ida Shipman's father, Eugene, was the brother of my greatgrandfather, Montague Alexander Buckingham Shipman. I have information on their Shipman ancestors going back to Edward Shipman who came over from England to Saybrook,Connecticut in about 1639 and I would be happy to send it to you. I also have information on their mother Amelia Smythe's ancestors. Eugene and Montague's father was Sylvanus Shipman and his father, Daniel Shipman, founded the town of Almonte in Ontario, Canada where Eugene and Montague were both born. Montague's sons, including my grandfather,Montague Arthur Shipman, moved out to California in about 1910 and lost touch with all the relatives in Ontario, New York and Chicago. I would be delighted with any information you could give me on Eugene Shipman's descendants.
