Hello Thomas,
I just happend to find this site and posts while I was looking into Italy. I put in my Grandmothers maiden name D'Auria and was so surprised to see a list of people with posts.
Anyway, in reference to the Sturchio name. I have some information.
Here goes:
My grandmother's maiden name was D'Auria, she came to the US in 1914 from caposelle, Italy. She had 5 sisters.
I believe one of the sisters's name was Geraldine.
They lived in Newark, NJ. My grandmother was Carmela D'Auria, I believe she ws born around 1878. Growing up
we had relatives come visit us from New York.
Their names were Peter Sturchio and his wife, Ann, they had 2 sons, Ralph and Peter. They lived in FLushing Queens. Frank Sturchio was his brother and his wife was Margaret and they had a daughter Alice. I think they lived in the Bronx.
My grandmother came to the US single and married here in
1914. She married Alfonso D'Elia who was also from caposelle. My grandmother's mother was Grace Sozio and her father was Peter D'Auria.
I just turned 60 and would like to go to Italy to visit the area where my Grandmother came from. SO that is why I was researching in the coputer any information I might find.
