Hello David,
I read your email wanting to know more about Alfonsa D'Auria who married Raffaele Sturchio.
I guess you can say that Alfonsa and Raffaele were my great aunt and uncle since Alfonsa was my grandmother's sister.
I was born in 1950 in Newark, NJ. My mother was Columbia D'Elia (Carmela D'Auria my grandmother married ALfonso D'Elia) Carmela came to the US in 1914. She came here unmarried and wed once she arrived. My mother Columbia was born in 1915. My mother (Comumbia D'Elia died 5/25/2000, Carmela and Alfonso D'Elia went to Italy
Aug. 1, 1955. Carmela had a heart attach while in Italy and died June 7, 1956.
I remember Peter and Frank Sturchio from NY. They would come to visit us in Newark when I was growing up and bring my sister, brother and I a 1 pound box of chocolates every time they visited. WHen I was 14 we went to the New York Worlds Fair in 1964-65 and stay at Ann Sturchio's home.
Peter Sturchio was deceassed.
Hope to hear back from you. As I posted in an earlier email I have photos I could send you.
Take Care
Carmela Judy Ciallella
