I am researching my father's family, and just yesterday found the surname of my Great Grandfather's wife.

His name was Nicola Zarra ( often misspelled or americanized) and all I knew until recently was that she went by the name of Jessie after they came to the United States.

Her name was Gelsomina ( Also often misspelled or abbreviated) D'auria, she was born around 1858.

He was from Teora, Italy, and she came from Caposele, neighbouring towns.

They immigrated here in 1878 or 1880, according to censuses, and often traveled back home to visit family (I assume)

When she traveled she would go by her maiden name of D'Auria. ( Ship records list her husband's name as Nicola Zarra)

I do not know if they married in the US or in Italy.

They lived in Newark, NJ, and their children and children's children lived there as well.

I know of all of their children, and their grandchildren, but nothing of their parents or cousins or siblings. I would very much like to fill in these blanks if possible. If you know anything of this woman or her family I would love to exchange details. :)
