Hi Laury,

I also am looking for information on John Davenport. I too descend from Squire through his son James. I don't think our John was born in Stoughton, MA because the John born there was married to Lois Badlam.

Research I've done show that John and Mary Bent Davenport had a son John, born 1 Nov 1737 in Stoughten, Norfolk, Massachusetts. This John married Lois Badlam on 9 Aug 1759 in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts. They were the parents of possibly seven children, born in Stoughten, Suffolk, Massachusetts. This John reportedly died on 25 Apr 1776 in New Milford, Litchfield, Connecticut, but our John there is still living. A "Mr. Davenport, aged" died in New Milford in Apr. 1793. Lois Badlam died 11 Feb 1809 in Stoughton, Norfolk, Massachusetts. There is no indication or record that John and Lois Badlam Davenport ever moved to Connecticut.

Look forward to comparing information.
