I am looking for John Davenport born 1816 Maclesfield England. Occupation weaver. He married Ann Cotton who was born in London in 1825.
Thier daughter Sarah Cotton Davenport was bornMay 1, 1853 in Enfield Connecticut. This info comes from Sarah's birth certificate, which I have a certified copy.
John may have had a couple of brothers, as I have two photos, marked uncle Joe Davenport, and the other uncle Will Davenport. The picture of Will was taken by H.H. Frye 6½ Mill Street, Grass Vally, California. I have also two photo's of a Joseph Davenport, one taken in Yokohama by R. Yamamoto, the other one is dated May 1904 (China) by Chun 50 Queens Road Central Hongkong.
Of coarse these could be uncle to Leorra Davenport Harding, who like Sarah is one of my other GG Grandmothers.
I would like to identify this John Davenport. I know that along with keeping the Kings hunting grounds, the Davenport's where in the silk trade, and were weavers of cotton, I just can't seem to find this particular line.
