I am working on a line of Davenports from Over Peover and wondered if anyone else is researching this line. I have got back to John born circa 1730 (his mother may have been Mary but this has not been confirmed as yet). John married Mary Baddiley in 1750 and they had at least 8 children....Mary 1750, John 1754, Jonas 1757, Isaac 1759, Ann 1762, Jonathan 1763, Hannah 1767 and Catherine 1770.
Of the children...
Mary had two children out of wedlock, Mary and Sarah. Mary died in infancy and Sarah married a John Coops.
John possibly had children...Thomas 1782, Ann 1787, Mary 1789, Jonathan 1794 and Elizabeth 1798. Ann married a John Taylor and they lived in Styal.
Jonas married Charlotte Hatton in 1783.
Isaac married a Sarah Broom in 1779.
Ann died in infancy.
Jonathan married Ann Garner in 1787.
Hannah married John Artingstall in 1789.
Catherine married Robert Hough in 1794.
Can anyone elaborate on the above? Any help gratefully received as I have now come to a dead end.
