My g grandfather was Sanford Vandiver Davenport, born in Pendleton District (area of SC not proven),SC. I've found his father's name, George Washington Davenport, then hit a deadend. I understand there's 4 genealogy books that are about Davenports from 4 different areas of US. Do you know where the D's lived before SC? Then we could connect with one of those books, maybe.
