Looking for anyone familiar with a family of Davenports living in Pitt County, N.C. in the early 1800's into 1900's. The family would have included a Rebecca Moore Davenport married to a Reubin Davenport who had several children; Abslee Ann, Martha Martilda, Sidney, Susan... They owned land which was deeded to Martilda & Bashi Davenport in the late 1800's prior to Rebecca's death. This family spread out to other counties which included both Edgecombe and Martin. Martilda had a son Robert Davenport born around 1873 who married Arsena Chance born 1880. Arsena's parents were Warren & Mary Thomas Chance. Robert and Arsena had around 12 children together and lived in Edgecombe and later Martin county. Their eldest, Leroy (Lee) married a Rosena Hines. This family has connections to Hines, Staton, Andrews, Barnhill, Whitehurst,Webb and many more surnames. Anyone having information linking to this family, please email me.
