Christie,

Some, if not all, of the Davenports in Pitt County, N.C. in 1800 were the children of George Davenport who lived in Hyde County, N.C. He died in 1799. He had 6 children, Edmond, Isaac, Enoch, Absolum, Reuben, and Lowes (Lois).
Three of these sold their share in his farm to the other three in 1799. Some of these are in Pitt County in the 1800 census. Edmond and Absolum move to Tennessee around 1810. I have a lot of information on them. I have not researched any of the others. George's father was Isaac Davenport who lived in Tyrrel County. His father was Richard Davenport who lived on the north side of the Albamarle Sound. He was born about 1642 in England and came to America sometime around 1660-1670.
