Susan, I sent a reply to you on the Sample Forum, but I am so glad to know there are others researching James D Davenport. My husband's line is:

We know that James D Davenport did own property in Tyrrell Co. and built a house there. It was located on the property now owned by Ray McClees. We understand the old house was later sold and moved to property along highway 64 several miles west of Columbia. The reamins of the house was still visable as late as 2005, but no longer there. James D, his two wives, Mahala & Elizabeth, their sons Joseph Franklin and Edward are buried in the small Robert Wynn Cemetery lacated in a field several hundred yards east of the home of Ray McClees.
