Thanks so much for responding to my query. Jeff and I have been in touch for a couple years now and his research on the later Davids has been extremely helpful. On these three Daniels, and the earlier Davids, he had not done original research in primary sources and was following the internet postings of others which are now known to be in error.
I have now done a good deal in original sources on the families of Jean and Ester David of New York and on Josue and Marie David, but I have not been able to prove the relationship between Jean and Josue David. They were of somewhat different economic classes and neither family interacted with the other (such as baptismal sponsors) in the records of the old French Church in NY., but that does not rule out a close kinship.
