Greetings Davidsons, I have only recently begun to dig around in the roots, and the tree is growing!! It's interesting to see all the cousins from everywhere. I am still right here in KY, Perry County to be exact. I need all the help I can get, because this is all new to me. I got quite a bit of info from my Dad, who passed away in 2002 at 98 years of age. The dates are estimated. He couldn't remember a lot. Prior to that my Grandmother, who passed away in 1972, at the age of 96 gave me some info. I am descended from Daniel Davidson b.1753-d.1832 Linefork Perry/Letcher County Kentucky. I have so much Davidson in my ancestry, it's danged confusing! My GG grandmother was Delia Davidson b. 1862 Clay County Ky d/o Robert Davidson b. 1832 d. 1900 Clay County KY (m. Howell Bowling b. July 1861 Clay County KY. d. UNK) I have Robert's father as James A. Davidson b.1801 Scott County VA d.1852 Ky s/o John Madison Davidson b. 1777 Virginia d. 1850 Clay County KY. who was the son of Daniel Davidson. (Please correct me with proof if possible) Next, Daniel Davidson's daughter, Mary Polly Davidson b. 1774,d. and buried at Linefork, Letcher,County (It was Perry at the time, I believe)(was John Madison Davidson's, sister) m. John Samuel Cornett b.1759 in Virgina d.1849 and buried in Harlan County KY. Their son was Hiram Cornett b. 1798 d. Clay County KY, who married Charity Rice..their daughter Mary Polly Cornett b. 1825 m. Pallas Bowling, and their son was Howell Bowling b.1861. Howell Bowling married Delia Davidson. (see above) (Please correct me with proof if possible.) The puzzles I would like to solve are: 1) Who was John Madison Davidson's (b. 1777) wife. I have found her listed as Elizabeth Smith in some places, and Elizabeth Callihan, a variant of Callahan, in other places. Who were her parents? 2) Was Hiram Cornett b.1798 the son of Mary Polly Davidson and John Samuel Cornett, or was he the son of another of John Samuel's wives? 3) Does anyone know the parents of Hiram's wife, Charity Ann Rice b. 1804 TN? If anyone is familiar with these branches of the family and have any information on them at all, thanks in advance for your help. Please feel free to e-mail me.
