They are related to my McCorquindale family at several points. In fact, William's wife, Janet Scott is the daughter of James Scott and Christian McCorquindale. Elizabeth Davidson married her 2nd cousin, Alexander McCorquindale.
I have a Christian Davidson (born about 1826). I believe she is the same as Catherina Davidson listed on the census transcriptions, as the dates are about right. I've not seen the actual Dumfries-shire census reports, so I don't know if it's a transcription error or not.
Janet (Davidson) Keir's daughter married a man named McVittie. I know the McVittie's were in Canonbie, but I've not spotted any information on his first name.
I'm descended from Alexander McCorquindale and Ann Turnbull as are these Davidson's. They are all cousins to me as my ancestors emigrated from Scotland to Canada.
Does anyone have any more information on this Davidson family from Canonbie, Dumfries-shire, Scotland?
