Davidson Land on Gilmore Creek, Kerr's Creek

I am attempting to find out which Davidson owned the land that is along what is now called Gilmore Creek in the Kerr's Creek area of Rockbridge County. It is approximately 1 mile from Big Spring (which is well noted in the Indian massacre at Kerr's Creek.

It is always been refered to as the "Davidson Place" by my family. On the maps (pre and Civil War) it shows M. Davidson, Mrs. Lackey, and Hall/Hull at the end of the creek.

Hubert G. Snider purchased this land around 1900s.

The purpose is I am trying to determine the owner of the house that burned along the creek where a chimney still stands.

Any help would be wonderful.

Karen Snider Lyle
