I'm doing some research and need some help! My father, Leslie John Christensen died 1/83 in Jupiter, FL.. His Mother Evelyn Mary Davies married Thomas John Christensen in Victoria Chapel, Mumbles Oystermouth (Gower) Wales on Dec. 23, 1905... On the marraige cert. they list Thomas's Father as Peter Christensen (deceased)w/ profession of Ships Carpenter and Evelyn's Father as John Davies (deceased) profession as Mariner They list residence at Time of Marriage for Thomas as 142 St Jceleus Ave(?), Swansea and Evelyn's as Alpine Cottage Thistleboon, Mumbles, Osystermouth... I know from relatives they always use to talk about Great Granny Boone?? Also off a Cert of Death for Evelyn Christensen it list father's name as John Davies and mother's maiden name as Mary Thomas. I know nothing about Mary or the Thomas's line or heritage ?????
Via a letter from a related relative from England to my Father's sister, Doreen on May 21st, 1952.. that there was a connection to the son of the Vicar of Bishopstone Gower(think they are talking about my father and his sister's either grandfather or possibly great grandfather??) and that he was cut off from the family as he married an illigimate person. It also states that the Vicar of Mumbles, Septimus Jones was Mother's(meaning Doreen's mother, Mary Evelyn Christensen) cousin ??States their grandmother was the daughter of titled people. They sent her down to relatives in Gower to have her baby in secret. They were going to marry after and then adopt the baby... but it never happened. They did get married. They got a family named Lloyd (who ran the Kimekiln at Mumbles)to adopt her. Then Grandfather fell in love w/ her and married her knowing her birth info.?????
Now she(the relative) say's "father's side"... Christensen..(I'm assuming) were farmers from Denmark..and live next to the king of demark's estate. The royal family children and father's brother's and sister's played together. Her father and a brother after a remarriage by their father, ran away to the sea... so her father always "followed the seafare all his life" She states that, an Anna Frisk's Mother was one of his sisters. She also stated that Elmira knew one of father's brothers that lived in London, near Woolrich arsenal. Elmira and Gerty use to visit themThis letter was from "Aunt" Therea Eversley of 31B Langley Park Road, Sutton Surrey dtd 5/21/52 to my aunt... who was my father's sister.
My Father's Certif of Birth.. List him being born on 2 Rosehill Terrace Mumbles, Wales on Oct 17, 1906 Also that his mother Evelyn Mary Davies was born 2/15/1879 in Wales most likely in Mumbles.
If you can help me find other info in this lineage.. I would most greatfully appreciate it. Especially something about Mary Thomas & family or Peter Christensen heritage, andfurther clarification on the Davies side I would be most greatful Many thanks. Mary Anne
