Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I stumbled unto your post and it seems we are all doing the same thing--looking for our roots. It would not surprise me to find out we are related--because I know how our Davila family (males) have demonstrated some predictability. My uncle Juan Davila lived in Chicago all the time I knew him. But, I do know that he was born in Puerto Rico, with borthers named Americo, Alejandro, David, and Nelida. These are the ones of the same father and mother, the father (great grandfather) had several other wives and some sibling names are Adela, Celso, and others. I know that my uncle Juan lived in Texas for some time, during the 1940s and that the woman he took on as his wife (from either Central Texas, San Antonio, or El Paso) was Mexican, from those areas. Her name was Juanita. He did have a son, who he left in Puerto Rico named Juan, Jr. If any of this sounds interesting to you, please email me.
