John M Davies/Davis in WI and IL 1850-1905

Looking for John M Davis/Davies b. 1830 in Wales Lived in Wisconsin 1850's till his death abt 1875. Wife Jane, son John M jr. born 1861. other sons poss. Walter, Thomas, William one of which may have died at a young age falling from rafter. 3 or more daughters, 2 of which remained unmarried one of which located to area around Chicago Illinois owned Boarding house near University. Relative William (Uncle Willie) Davis/Davies owned candy and Cigar store in possibly Chicago Heights around 1900 and passed in abt 1905, could have been Janes relative. One rumor was that John M. Sr was an Itinerant preacher. Seems like a lot of information but haven't been able to find any information. Can anyone help?
