For Davis family researchers - FYI - hope it helps someone.

Jones County, Georgia, indenture dated July 14, 1823, between between Elizabeth Davis, grantor, and Abner Davis, grantee.

Thomas Davis, son of Elizabeth Davis had died without issue. His mother, Elizabeth Davis of "Lower Province, Montgomery County, PENNSYLVANIA", released all of her rights in her son's estate to Abner Davis, the brother of Thomas. Abner was shown as J. I. C. in Montgomery County, GEORGIA, in one document, and in 1811, was taxed on nine tracts of land laying in Montgomery, Tattnall, Randolph, Morgan, Putnam, Laurens and Jones Counties.
