DNA Testing for Descendants of Dea Joseph Davis
Posted by: Carol Shiels (ID *****0778) Date: February 09, 2013 at 14:44:20

Are there any descendents of Deacon Joseph Davis (1669/70 Billerica, MA - 1747 Billerica, MA) and his wife Elizabeth Rebecka Pattin/Patten (1674/5 - 1750/1 also of Billerica)
who have DNA reults or are willing to undergo DNA testing, either male or female?
There are descendants of a Kitteridge Davis, a possible grandson, who are undergoing such testing. It would be great to have some KNOWN descendants of Deacon Joseph with results for comparison.
Current THEORY is that Kitteridge is a son of Thomas, the youngest child of Deacon Joseph Davis of Billerica. This Thomas removed to Mansfield, CT by 1755 at which time he was dismissed to the church there. There his trail has been lost.
A land deed dated 5/10/1782 from a Thomas Davis of Somers, CT to his son Kitteridge Davis of Wilbraham,MA has been located. But which Thomas Davis was the father? Was he the son of Deacon Joseph Davis of Billerica or some other Thomas?
