It is possible that the David Davison you mentioned was from Orange County, NC, and was married to Elizabeth King 25 February 1800 in Orange County, NC. Elizabeth did have a brother, Joseph King, for whom I have no information about where he eventually settled. As you will see below, several of their children married in Tennessee.

David is listed as head of household in Orange County in 1810, and is in Caswell County by the Census of 1820. In April 1822, David purchased from Luke Prendergast of Orange County for $286, 143 acres on North Hico adjacent to John C. Vanhook, being a part of 250 acres granted by the State, wit: James Bouldin and Thomas Prendergast. A DAVID DAVISON WAS FOUND IN ASHE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA IN NORTH CAROLINA CENSUS OF1830.

Benjamin Holt was a son-in-law of Rebecca Rainey Mebane King, wife of John King of Orange County, NC and Andrews County, Tennessee.
