My word is good, I will give $250 cash to the person linking Martha (Mattie) Davison/Davidson to her parents. I have been searching for her last name and family for about ten years. She first appears in the 1870 Fricks Gap, Walker County, Georgia Census with husband Thomas C Dedman, She is listed as being 24 years old and born in Georgia. They have two children John 2, and William 9/12. John does not appear in another Census, I believe he died before the age of 12 and may have been named for someone in Martha's family. Martha appears again in the 1880 17th Civil District Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee Census with husband Thomas C Deadman. She is listed as being 43 and born in Tennessee and her mother and father were born in Tennessee, their children are listed as William 13, Gussie 10, Nancy R 6 all born in Georgia and Mark 3 born in Tennessee. She had another son, Samuel born November 5, 1983 in Chattanooga. About four years ago I received the death certificate of Samuel stating his mothers maiden name was Mattie Davison. Martha last appears in land Deed #143-296 in January of 1890 where Martha and Thomas give the Hamilton County, Tennessee government the right of way to build Harrison Pike across their property in Bartlebaugh, Harrison, Hamilton County, Tennessee. Thomas remarried on August 28, 1891 to Ellen Jones in Chattanooga. Martha was said to have died but I have not found her in any death records or cemeteries yet. Martha's husband Thomas Henry Crawford Dedmon fought in Company H, 2nd Regiment Volunteer Infantry CSA.
