Administration of his father's estate as age 14. In 1711 Josiah Davisson still a minor took title to land in
Southold, Long Island NY. It is presumed that Josiah married Mary there. per this book "no record has
been discovered of Josiah's marriage to Mary [pos. Skelton or Winthrop] or the birth of his children."

"Sarah and Daniel moved from Wenham [Essex Co, MA] to Stonington, CT in 1701, where they lived
near his brothers, Thomas and Peter. He was listed as farmer, yeoman, and a turner. He was active in
community affairs, donated a quarter acre lot for the first Harrison Co Courthouse, 21 Feb 1787, on
which five courthouses have been built since, but the first one is commemorated in the entryway of the
modern courthouse, by a metal plaque, on which is pictured the 26'x38' original frame building. The first
courthouse rested on stone pillars built 8 feet above the ground, and was entered by a wood ladder or
steps. On a side street on the Daniel Davisson Cemetery is a DAR marker inscribed: Daniel Davisson
Major in Revolution, Commander of Nutter Fort and High Sheriff of Harrison County. He donated land for
County buildings and this cemetery in the year of 1790. per Dodge Fam Gen 1996, by Robert Dodge.

Sarah Dodge is the dau of Lt John Dodge and wife Sarah. The notation that Sarah Dodge married ”Daniel DENISON" is not correct and is a transcription error, as the Ipswich MA Vital Records, published
by the Essex Institute Salem MA 1910 (marriage) clearly notes "Under Davison Daniell & Margaret LOW,
April 8 1657. CT. R.; Daniel, Jr., and Sarah DODG, June 28, 1865."
