I have dug out my late father's reseach and he states ' The Parish of Donegore is situated within the Diosese of Connor, in the Episcopal Court of which all wills were probated before 1858. In 1737 the will of James Davison of 'Dunnegor' was probated and was recorded as such although the will has not itself has not been found. My father believed that James was the son of John of Grange of Nilteen and he picked this up from 1669 Hearthmoney Roll for Co Antrim. Grange of Nilteen was the neighbouring parish to Donegore. My father surmised that there would have been a John Davison and his son James Davison. He found that a William Davison of Donegore and his first son was named James, the tradition was that the first son took the name of the Grandfather. Therfore he surmises that there was most likely a James Davison might have been the grandson of James Davison who died in 1737. Although we have no record of James Davison grandson of James Davison who died in 1737, but if he emigtrated then this might be why. Unfortunatley my father's history only exists as a document the digital version was produced on a now defunct computer system and I need to scan and OCR the 30 odd pages at some stage. If you think that this would be useful I could let you have a scan of the relevant pages.
