I am confused as to why the children of Joseph David Davisson and Elvira Virginia Davis would change their name to Davidson. They were supposedly all born in Doddridge County. I understand there was also a "Davidson's Mill" in the family.
My grandmother was Elvira (aka Juanita) May Davidson. Her first married name was Swearingen (his first name is unknown). She then married my grandfather Joseph Russell Fleshman.
Any lead or tip is greatly appreciated.
