My Davissons came from harrison Co., Va (W.VA) to Darke County (Later Preble County), Ohio. in 1805. Josiah, son of Daniel (from Scotland) was appointed sherriff of Rockingham Co., Va by Patrick Henry.
Josiah, at the age of 55 when his first wife died, left Va. (W VA) and moved to Ohio with a new bride. I have a copy of his will and he died in 1826, but his family (my family) seemed to have a restless streak and started moving all over Ind., Ill.and Mo. maybe your family came from that line.
