My Gggm, Ellen (Eleanir) Davoren, was born about 1819, probably in Tipperary. About 1835 she arrived in Cardiff with Lawrence Hayde. They had several children before and after their marriage in 1840. Their daughter Annie was born in 1844 in Cardiff, and came to Queensland, Australia in 1844. Her Birth does not seem to have been registered, but the St David's Register of her christening in Cardiff has her named as Hannah, and her mother as "Hanorah Davin".

Family lore has it that Lawrence was a Groom for the Davorens, and that he and Ellen eloped after she became pregnant.

Going by the Irish naming pattern, Ellen's Father was probably a Michael Davoren, and her Mother probably Hannah or Hanorah.

Maybe our two Ellens were cousins ?
