The research I spoke of does not go into the early Dawseys in any depth. I could not determine who the researcher was. Your cousin's research seems to have been very thorough. I have not seen David Dawsey on any records in Horry. James Dawsey owned several hundred acres near Galivants Ferry, and appears to have owned the ferry landing on the Horry County side at one time. William and William, Jr., owned about 600 acres a mile northeast of the ferry in the 1790s. McQueens lived in the Dog Bluff Community, south of the ferry, near Thomas Dawsey. I have not researched the Dawseys, encountering them only in other research.
