I am researching the Dawsey family in Horry County, SC and would like to find more information. I am stuck and don't know how to proceed. Any info would be appreciated. Here is what I have.

John W. Dawsey – born March 1859
Martha J. Dawsey – born September 1873
John Dawsey – born November 1879
Pearley Dawsey – born February 1883
Martha Dawsey – born October 1885
Louis Dawsey – born May 1891
Clarkie Dawsey – born July 1893
Neppie Dawsey – born April 1896
Eleck Dawsey – born July 1897
Zilly Dawsey – born July 1899

(1900 South Carolina Census, Horry County, Galivants Ferry, June 28, 1900, Series T623, Roll 1531,
Page 165.)

I have been searching through records on the internet both in North and South Carolina trying to piece together as much as I can. I cannot find any information on where the Dawsey family members may have been buried. I don’t know what religion the family practiced in the 1800’s and early 1900’s to check against church cemeteries in the counties where they may have lived. Does anyone know when the family moved from South Carolina to North Carolina? Or was it only a few family members? For the most part, I have only found information in Horry County, South Carolina. In 1979, my immediate family and I traveled to Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina for a reunion. There were several "cousins" living on the lake. JW, AB, Aunt Gladys, and PE. Aunt Gladys was the wife of Allie B. Dawsey mentioned below. They all lived in a row with the property lines one after another.

By 1920, John Wilson Dawsey is deceased. The family is then listed under Pearley H. Dawsey.
Pearlie H. Dawsey - Head – age 35
Martha J. Dawsey – Mother - age 48
John Dawsey – Brother – age 38
Louis Dawsey – Brother – age 26
Eleck Dawsey – Brother – age 21
Zillie Dawsey – Sister – age 18
Allie B. - Brother - age 13
Essie Dawsey – Sister – age 11
Eston Dawsey – Brother – age 11
Austin Dawsey – Brother – age 8

(1920 Census, South Carolina, Horry County, Bayboro Township, June 10, 1920, Series T625, Roll
1699, Page 14.)

They actually have Eston listed incorrectly as Esther on the Census. It is very common to find these
kinds of errors. They have Louis spelled this way in 1920 and Lewis in 1900. Zilly is spelled different
ways as well.

Since Austin is 8 years old, I assume that John Wilson Dawsey would have passed away between the
1910 and 1920 Census.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'd enjoy making a connection to someone who has photos. My Grandmother is Essie Dawsey and I only have one photograph of her.
