Mr. Dawsey, Please forgive me if this seems too far out to consider, but I'm pretty tired of beating my head on the wall. I'm looking for the ancestors of a Robert M. Wright of Hancock Co GA (census !820 and 1830) His apparent son Thomas Wright is definitely my GGgrandfather, through his son Pierce Wright(m. Tabitha Butts) In Pierce's CSA records, he is called, once, Dawse Pierce. Everywhere else he uses D> Pierce. His mother Sarah was born Sarah CARLISLE in SC the daughter likely, since he was the only Carlisle in Hancock Co in 1830 and had a daughter her age, of Robert Carlisle. Sarah and Thomas had a son Robert C. who died in the CW. I have not been able to find a reason
for Pierce's name until I just found Daniel Dawsey on the 1840 Crawford Co GA census living near a Robert M. Wright, a man who died two years later. He is probably not the same as The Robert M. in Hancock, just possibly father and son. Robert of Crawford is said by his grandson George William Bazemore to have been born in Ireland. Robert's wife Nancy survived.
Do youo have any Wright connections with Dawsey, a name I hadn't considered until now ? Do you have Carlisle ancestors? Thanks for your time. Fay Hoodock
