Thought someone may find this old newspaper article interesting.
July 21, 1948.
CASH IN CAN REWARDS ILLINOIS ANGLERS
Peru, Ill. { UP }- An 11 year old uncle took his 13 year old nephew fishing and returned with the biggest catch of the season. $100 in musty U.S. currency.
CARL DAY, 11 and his nephew, JIMMY DAY, 13, needed a container for worms. They found an old tobacco can along the banks of the Illinois River.
Crammed into the can were 6 old-style $10 bills and 2 - 20's.
------------
This is not my family.
