Nancy, RE: The John and Joseph Day that you mention in your second paragraph. Joseph Day, Jr. settled in Leitchfield and Big Clifty, Grayson County, KY. He was born in Botetourt Co., VA in 1768, married 1792, and died 1855. He was the son of Joseph Day, Sr. (b. 7 December 1740, d. 1798) who married Catharine Yarnall of Philadelphia at Philadelphia Monthly Meeting in 1762. Joseph Sr. had a brother named John Day (b. 1738, d. ? - my ancestor), and both were descended from PA Quakers, John Day (b. ca. 1705, d. 1775) and Lydia Ross of East Nottingham Monthly Meeting, Chester County, PA. John's and Joseph's were common in this family line. I have been researching my John Day line for over 30 years and would be glad to share information. Please see my recent posting attempting to tie this Day family to Quaker Day families in Hertfordshire England. Dr. Bob Day bobdaysc@earthlink.net Notify Administrator about this message?
