Hi. Iím looking for any information on my great-great grandmother Carolyn Day. The information I have is that she was born in Sumterville, Alabama on March 24, 1849 and died in 1927 in Milton, Florida. She may also be known as Carolyn M. Day, Carolyn Malvina Day, or Francis C. M. Day. Itís possible that her motherís name was Mariah Jordan or Mariah Darden, but I have not been able to verify that. The 1850 census for Alabama lists a 2-year old Francis C. M. Day with a father William C. Day and mother Mariah Day. That seems to match the information I have, except for her age.
Carolyn Day married Frank E. Dey in 1869 at the Day family home (or plantation) in Mississippi. They moved to Texas (possibly Hearne); Pensacola, Florida; Evergreen, Alabama; and finally Milton in 1902. He was a jeweler and they had six children.
Any information on her lineage, the location of the plantation home in Mississippi, and the reasons for the moves would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
