It has been awhile since I researched my Day line, but I am wondering if it is the same family. Parents were George Day and Elizabeth White Day. She died in 1887 when her clothing caught fire in Hendricks Co, IN. Children were: Mary Catherine, John W b Sept 1852, Robert Eli, George Washington, Drucille Olive, Ida D, Morton M, James Ellsworth, Franklin, and Flora J. In trying to track descendants for DNA purposes, I found some buried in Hamilton Co, as well as Fortville, in Hancock Co.
I also tracked George Day for several years thinking he was a POW in the Civil War, but later determined it was another George Day from Hendricks Co who was a college student from Illinois who just enlisted from Hendricks Co.
