in Pleasant Hills Cem., Mont. Co., MD I have several ancestors that have been determined to be buried at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in the vicinity of Wye Oak Drive and Ancient Oak Drive, Darnestown, Montgomery County, Maryland... Daymude, according to findagrave.com on 9 July 2011 include: Annie Elizabeth (Daymude) Carter. 1855-1916 The cemetery has long past been out of existence and plowed under, to my understanding. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW is if there is any documentation or proof abouts for ANY of the people who were buried there. When the cemetery ceased to function as such, where did their documentation go? What kind of documentation would they have had? Why wouldn't the county have been made custodian of the records? Or the local genealogical society, for goodness sake. Someone, somewhere must have SOMETHING relating to the burials in this cemetery! Please! I cannot give credence to continued hear-say! Here is the description for Pleasant Hills Cemetery as provided by contributors at findagrave.com: Cemetery notes and/or description: This cemetery is no longer in existence. The location and burial information comes from direct descendants of the interred. More than 100 years ago, a Methodist church and graveyard were on this site. The church was dissolved and the property was abandoned for more than 50 years. It was eventually purchased for back taxes by a farmer. The farmer buried the tombstones at the head of each grave in 1951 after receiving signed releases from relatives of the deceased. Notify Administrator about this message?
