Ap 15, 1924 Justice Smyth dies in May Hospital After Operation Chief Justice Constantine J. Smyth of the District court of appeals died last night in Rochester MN....at Mayo Brothers Hospital for 3 weeks. Daughters Catherin Burgess and Rose Sibberinsen of Omaha, Edward L and Bernard A of Dc at 2400 Sixteent St NW...Constantine Jr of NY. appointed to the bench in 1917...came from Ireland in 1870...edcuated at Creighton U...degrees of A. M. and LL.D. AG of Neb 1897 to 1900...Democratic delegate to the national convention...prof at Creighton U Law School...active in Catholic circles, born in Count Cavin Ireland in 1859 son of Bryan and Rose Smyth...burial in Omaha. Edward L Smyth dies at 44 in Aug 1940...in Detroit..has apt in Dupont Circle in DC. survived by mother of Omaha, two sisters Mrs. Charles Burgess Detroit, Mrs. C.G. Fibernsen Omaha and brothers Constantine, Jr of Phila and Bernard A of DC. Mr. Smyth was a WW vet...buried at Arlington Cemetery. If you would like the articles, let me know.
