I looked in City Directories and found my grandfather from 1930 all the way up to 1970. I'm not sure if they stopped making city directories in 1970, or if the library just didn't have any more recent than that. Does anyone know?

If they did stop making city directories at that point, or there about, what other means can I use to track my grandfather? The other information I have now is that he came to Washington, DC from Savannah in 1930, as a student. Then he worked at the IRS. The final place I found that he worked at was U.S. Tariff Commission (not sure that still exists). So, I know he was a Civil Servant--this is new information. Can I use it in any way to track him?
