There was a William Shaw who married a Rebecca "Ollawayl" or "Ollaways" in Delaware on August 28, 1846.
There was a James Shaw who died in Appoquinimink Hundred, New Castle County in 1780. He had children: John, William, James, Mary, Sarah, Martha, and Jane. This could be the family you seek, just a few generations back. I'd recommend checking the Delaware Public Archives for property and probate records, and the general card indexes, for Shaws in Appoquinimink Hd.
