On my web sitewww.yclc.ca/indexz you will see the names Benjamin Rathwell(also spelled Rothwell by other family members I think)arriving in Canada on the ship John in 1816 with James Deacon Jr.
Shipmates were distributed, it seems, between Drummond Township, Lanark County, and Kitley Township, Leeds County. The name John Gibbons also appears.
Later, c. 1850, four Deacon brothers apparently left the Smiths Falls area to settle East Wawanosh Township in Huron County - Henry, William and James being three of them. Henry Deacon m. Janer Chamney, dau. of Richard Chamney (1826-1904) and Euphemia Mason (1832-1881) (originally from Glenealy Parish, near Rathdrum, Wicklow. I wonder if this information, sketchy as it may seem, tees up with information you have.
