My mother-in-law just confirmed that Catherine Jane DEAN (b: 21 Apr 1848) died of breast cancer around 1905. Also, her son Benjamin Franklin BAKER died of prostate cancer. One of his brothers had cancer and two of his sisters had breast cancer.

Her parents were Hiram DEAN (1813 - 1880) and Nancy M. LAWSON (1822 - 1870).
