There are a number of different and unrelated Dean family lines that have participated in Y-DNA tests. However, even if you found your family line in one of those Dean lines it will not guarantee that your Dean descendant is a descendant of any of those Dean lines. Thus, it is necessary for your male Dean descendant to participate in a Y-DNA test to prove beyond doubt that he is, indeed, a Dean descendant of which research alone is not proof.
