My mother talked frequently about her beloved "Uncle Andrew", actually her great uncle. My greatgrandmother was Fanny Deane Cunniff and I believe Andrew's older sister. There were 6 or 8 children in that family. Half were born in South Carolina and half in New Bedford after coming north in 1863. If you would like more info, I'd be glad to tell all I can remember. Did you know they had chickens and a Pierce Arrow car? I think Marcella was related to President Pierce (also their son's name). Have you visited the Deane graves in New Bedford? Let me know if you'd like the trivia I can recall.
