Hoping to find information on Ancestors of James Deane born Dublin in 1820 (accordingly to Military Records) (born 1824 according to his marriage certificate).

James Deane was a painter aand glazier, but enlisted in the 96th Regiment of Foot c 1838.
He travelled to Australia with that Regiment as a Convict Guard on the Hindostan arriving in Tasmania 1841.
James was court martialled in 1844 at Hobart Tasmania for striking a superior officer, and was sentenced to 14 years with hard labour.
After he received his ticket of leave he married Honora Shinner at Westbury, Tasmania in 1854. They had 9 children
all born at Westbury, Tasmania. Namely
Margaret May
Bridget Ann
francis Luke
Joseph Augustus.

His wife Honora died in 1854 and it is likely James remarried.
