I have a baptism certificate in the name of Sophia Deane, dated 28th April 1822. She was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Deane. This baptism took place in the parish of Framlingham, Suffolk. The data on the original parchment is rather difficult to follow, it all being in long hand and difficult to read properly.

I do not know if this may be of any interest to you.

I have now in my possesion a long line of Deanes, but there is a blank around the 1700s which I am keen to fill.

Well documented is the life and times of Sir Anthony Deane, member of parliament for Harwich, friend of Samuel Pepys of Pepys diary fame. They both were incarcerated into the Tower of London on charges of treason which were later dropped.
