I would be interested in finding out more. I'm not sure if this family is related to mine - it seems to me that probably all the Deane's on the island could be related if you go back far enough. My grandfather, Thomas W. Deane, was from Barbados. He immigrated to New York City in 1929 and settled in Brooklyn. Apparently there was an enclave of Barbados immigrants there. My father and his sister have both been to Barbados and are in touch with some relatives there. One has the name of Mary Danford, a cousin.
My grandfather's father was a caretaker at Nicholas Abbey, a national landmark.
