I am trying to connect this Dean family as I am from Port Hope and since they were early settlers, it would be nice to have a more complete history . We have found the baptisms of two children;

Mary Dean born 2 Aug 1801 and baptized 24 Dec 1806 and her sister Malinda born 2 Oct 1805 and baptized 24 Dec 1806 in the Bridge St. Methodist Register. Parents were listed as Noah and Libby Dean. We believe that this was probably Noah Dean and Lydia Warner or Wariner.

It is known from family records that a Mary Warner Dean married Chester Hatch . It is felt that Mary Dean of this baptism record was the wife of Chester Hatch.

In the Zion Cemetery in Durham County Ontario, is a burial of Matilda A Dean wife of T M Welch.

T M Welch was a Thomas M Welch born around 1832.

Their children were Hattie, Marshall I, Ella, Milton, Laura E and Mabel Rowena Welch.

On the 1851 census for Silvester or Sylvester Dean and his wife Harriet Wyman, a Matilda Dean born 1828 is listed with the family. Since Silvester Dean did not marry Harriet Wyman until 17 Nov 1836 in Whitby Ontario, Harriet Wyman is not the mother of this Matilda Dean. I am querying whether Silvester Dean may have had a previous marriage.

In the book Pioneers, the Dean Family of Hamilton Twp, this Matilda Dean is not listed with Silvester Dean.
