It sounds as though Charles Evelyn Deane may have been one of the siblings of my grandfather Estwick Ebenezer Deane.

I only recently discovered through the Ellis Island site that my grandfather's father George Elviston Deane took his two eldest sons, Charles Evelyn and George Henry, to New York in 1903 before himself returning to Barbados.

George Elviston married Alice Amelia Alberta Evelyn who was the daughter of Charles Evelyn (hence the name)and Catherine Ann Cuffley, out of wedlock.

My grandfather never spoke of his father's visit to New York or mentioned his two brothers. It came as a complete surprise to find the record.

George Elviston Roberts was born to a single mother Amelia Thomas Roberts in 1856.

His baptismal record is on the Mormon web site. His mother married George Henry Deane in 1859, also on the Mormon website.

I cannot track down the ancestors of George Henry Deane.

I have tried tracking down the two who went to New York. I had limited success with George Henry. It looks as if he wound up in the UK.

I would like to correspond.
