For anyone who's interested, here is some more biographical detail:

SAMUEL[8] DEARBORN was born at Effingham, NH 27 Jan 1831, son of Samuel[7] (James[6], Edward[5-4], Samuel[3], Thomas[2], Godfrey[1]) and Susan (Demerritt) Dearborn. In the 1850 Census, he was described as 18 years old, and was living with his father and siblings at Stow, Oxford Co., ME.

He married (1) probably at Stow about 1854, ELVIRA J. COLE, born at Cornish, ME 20 May 1834; died at Fryeburg, ME 25 Mar 1873, age 38-10-5 (gravestone), daughter of Henry and Susan (Hill) Cole (Robert L. Taylor, EARLY FAMILIES OF CORNISH, MAINE [1985], 22). We learn Elvira's maiden surname from the death records of Samuel and Elvira's two daughters, Susie and Nettie. Samuel and Elvira were living with their family at Stow in the 1860 Census, and at Fryeburg in the 1870 Census.

Samuel married (2)(intention) at Saco, ME 6 Mar 1874, EUNICE (---) GROSS, born ME 19 Aug 1828; died 3 Feb 1906 (no death record found in ME); buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, in the same lot as Oscar J. Gross, D.D.S., probably a son. Samuel and Eunice were living at Fryeburg in the 1880 Census. Samuel was a farmer.

Samuel died at Fryeburg 7 July 1895, age 64-5-12, pneumonia, and is buried with his first wife, his parents, and several children, in West Fryeburg Cemetery, located off Rte. 113, just south of West Fryeburg Village. He died intestate (Oxford Co. Probate, #D-71).

Children, all by 1st wife:
1 SARAH FRANCES[9], b Stow, ME Mar 1854; d ---; living at Lovell, ME 1900 Census; mar at Lovell 5 Apr 1874, HENRY W. KENNISTON; 3 children.
